Center Hill Lake is a favorite for all out
door and water sports enthusiast. The Center Hill Lake is located about 15
miles west of Sparta on Hwy 70. There are three state parks on Center Hill
Lake, two of which are in White and adjoining counties, Rock Island State
Park and Burgess Falls State Natural Area along with Edgar Evins State Park
in Silver Point. With several popular access points just off Hwy 70,
such as Ragland Bottom Recreation Area, Johnson Chapel
Recreation Area and Sligo Marina, it is easy for folks in Sparta and White
County to enjoy the serene beauty of this wonderful lake. Center Hill belongs to you, please treat our lake and surrounding area

Ragland Bottom Recreation Area
Ragland Bottom, a US Army Corps of Engineers Recreation area is
located on Center Hill Lake. It boasts an amphitheater, bath house, boat
launch with private moorings, paved parking areas, picnic areas with
shelters and playgrounds, camping grounds with dumping station, tables and
grills, drinking water, restrooms and swimming areas and trails.
Ragland Bottom Recreation Area Johnson Chapel Recreation Area
Johnson Chapel, a U.S. Corp of Engineers Recreation Area, allows easy
access to Center Hill Lake with a launching ramp close to the paved parking
area. A picnic area with tables, grills, drinking water and rest rooms
assures folks of having a fun filled day at the lake.
Johnson Chapel Recreation Area Sligo Marina
Sligo Marina is located 15 miles west of Sparta just after you cross
the bridge over the Center Hill Lake. Sligo is one of the most popular
marinas on the Center Hill Reservoir with launching ramp, private boat
moorage, cabin rentals, restaurant and snack bar, boat and motor rentals,
fishing and marine supplies, drinking water, rest rooms, paved parking area,
and vessel pump out station. A country store is in the vicinity with
supplies for a weekend or for a spur of the moment picnic.
