Sparta and White County is also proud to offer their citizens and visitors to the area a variety of facilities for any activity or event.

The River Park on South Carter Street offers a paved River Walk, which is partly a rails to trails project which utilizes the old Caney Fork & Western Railroad Bridge over the Calfkiller River. A large pavilion offers covered picnic tables and grills to enjoy along with a children's playground. To reserve call 836-3248. A new boat ramp is now available on the South Church Street side of the Calfkiller River.
The Wallace Smith Park is located on North Carter Street and offers tennis courts, basketball goals and swings, etc. The two parks are now joined by a connecting trail under the Bockman Way Bridge.

The Sparta Amphitheater is located on the corner of Liberty Square and Bockman Way and is the center of many exciting concerts and festivals throughout the year. The facility will seat approximately 500, has a gazebo concession, stage with lights and sound system, rest rooms and may be reserved by individuals or groups. Phone: 931-836-3482

Sparta's Recreational Complex is managed by the Y.M.C.A. and offers pool and gym memberships with various classes and sports activities. The Y.M.C.A. is located at 123 Moore Street in Sparta.

The Sparta Civic Center is a popular center for everything from family reunions to corporate seminars and is conveniently located on east Bockman way. To reserve the Civic Center call City Hall.

The White County Agricultural Community Complex Building has added another dimension to the Fairgrounds on North Spring Street. A large open space with kitchen facilities makes it a great place for association dinners, exhibitions and shows, meetings, pageants, and receptions.

The Sparta-White County Senior Citizens Center is a very active community facility and generates a lot of exciting events throughout the year. Seniors enjoy lunch during the week along with activities such as Senior Olympics, shuffle board, Bean Day, dances, birthday parties, bridge games, pool games, crafts, you name it and the seniors are ready to get involved.

The City and County's other facilities include a gymnasium, football stadium, tennis courts, baseball, softball, volleyball, badminton, batting cage and track.
